K'La and I are sending out our wedding invitations. Late, as usual, but we are now getting responses back from the invited persons. I am happy to announce that my parents (and a goodly chunk of the local family) are coming to the wedding!!! I know that you are probably wondering why I would be happy at something that is a given for most couples. The reason is because when I was getting married to Sasha, my first wife, my parents called me and told me that there would be no one from my side of the family attending the wedding because they didn't approve of her. I was devastated, to say the least. That night marked the first time I ever got drunk to try to ease the pain I felt inside. Fast forward to 9-2002 and earlier. Throughout the whole time K'La and I had been talking about the wedding, I had this nagging fear that my parents would yet again tell me that they were not going to show up. Those fears went away about two days ago when I got the RSVPs from my parents, Courtney and Andrea, as well as Laura and Hunter, her son. Yeah, I know, Hunter is something like 9 months old, but if I can get away with counting him, then I will do it! I'm just happy that they are coming.
In Trybalaka news, two of the most senior members resigned this past week, which was a shock to say the least. I wish them the best and hope the get what they need from life. What that means for us is that there are now parts that are open for other people to sing. K'La wants me to get with Brian McLean and see if I can sing Mikey's part to "Standing Like A Tree". I'm going to give it a try. I have self-doubt that I can do it, but you never know.
I think that will be all for now. Perhaps more later. Take care everyone...
