I close my eyes
And I see the moon
Waiting for me
To call the tune

I open my eyes
And I look around
I see the world
Broken and in a shroud

And I feel her there
Support and love
More than I dare

I open my eyes
And I see my span
To help and advise
To do what I can

I close my eyes
And the demons come
Ugly, fearful and confused
My work is done
