Road Trip Conclusions
Sep. 1st, 2003 07:17 pmAs everyone may or may not know,
bookofmirrors and I went to Indiana to see her parents and go to her sister's wedding. As it seems to be a standard thing on these trips, we spent the first part of it talking. I don't remember the specifics of the conversation, but two things do stand out.
1) Friend: a person I don't have to be on my guard around
2) I don't like being manipulated. Starting today, September 1, 2003, I don't care what your reason is - your own betterment, entertainment, or for what you believe to be my own good. I don't care. If you have an agenda, don't bring it to me. And despite appearances, I am fairly good at picking out when people are trying to manipulate me. If you try, and I catch you, I will close the door on you for however long I deem necessary. The same goes if I realize that I've been played after the fact. As the saying goes, "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."
I've had enough.
