As to the other...I think you have to figure out if you're expecting something to happen. Then you figure out what it is you expect to happen. Then you'll figure out why you feel the way you do.

Conversely, if you know why you feel the way you do, you'll know what the desired manifestation is, and then you'll know how to bring it about.
